Professor Pecher looks back on a successful career of many years with the Schaeffler Group and is a highly regarded expert in the field of developing forward-looking solutions, including optimized vehicle acoustics. He was also significantly involved in establishing a leading testing laboratory, the Competence Center for Acoustics in Herzogenaurach. The Schaeffler Group is a leading global automotive and industrial supplier and employs 84,000 people at over 200 locations in more than 50 countries.  

Alfred Pecher is looking forward to his new task: "My aim is to get the trustees of Fraunhofer IDMT even more involved in the work of the institute. The composition of the Board of Trustees with representatives from science, industry and politics not only provides Fraunhofer IDMT with versatile food for thought and inspiration, but also with a broad network in different industries and research areas."

As deputy chairman of the board of trustees, Professor Michael Vorländer from the Institute for Hearing Technology and Acoustics at the renowned RWTH Aachen University was elected. He has been a professional advisor and mentor to Fraunhofer IDMT for many years.
