The software analyzes the melodic and rhythmic
features of a digitalized melody, and searches a database
for tracks that may contain the melody.
The melody retrieval is based on two basic technologies:
With the transcription of the monophonic melody 
a sequence of several notes (charcterized by its pitch, starting
point and temporal duration) is extracted from the digitalized
singing. The melody phrase is compared
to all melodies stored in the database and the similarity
is generated. The most similar melodies to the sung query
are presented in a list as an output.
The database is compatible to the MPEG-7
Melody Descriptor so that the corresponding datasets are to
search easily. At the moment, the database contains several
thousand entries ranging from classical to pop music including
the latest hits. Customized databases can be created at any
time for specific purposes.
