The Human-Centered Media Technologies business unit analyzes, develops and evaluates application-oriented, user-centered digital media solutions supporting people in various areas of life, such as medicine and health, automotive and safety, or education.
We assist providers of vocational education and training along their individual »learning paths« through an educational market that is currently transforming. Besides consulting, we offer R&D support to providers of educational services as well as platform providers in converting didactic and technological solutions into practicable innovations. Main areas of research are skill and competence oriented e-assessment, learning analytics, and networked educational infrastructures and workflows.
Further subject to research is the user centered optimization of products and services. We offer consulting and assistance in product and service development. The methodical toolbox comprises both technical and empirical methods to evaluate and define user needs and gratifications. In addition, we deal with revolutionary forms of human computer interaction technologies suited to promote user motivation and concentration – because first the user and their requirements have to be understood before custom-made solutions can be developed.
