Dr.-Ing. Sara Werner studied Digital Television at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences from 2004 to 2008 and finished with a diploma degree (comparable to a Master of Science). After her graduation she worked as researcher at the ICT&S Center in Salzburg, Austria. In 2009 she moved to Ilmenau, Germany, and joined the Institute for Media Technology at Technische Universität Ilmenau. In 2018 she finished her PhD at the Technische Universität Ilmenau with the thesis "Quality Taxonomy for Scalable Algorithms of Free Viewpoint Video Objects".
In 2012 she joined the Perception and Ergonomics group (Acoustics) at Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology IDMT in order to manage listening tests and perceptual studies. Between 2015 and 2018 Sara has been part of the (former) Human-centered Media Technologies business unit focusing on usability, quality of user experience and user centered design. Since 2019 she is part of the business unit Industrial Media Applications focusing on the parametrization of quality influencing factors and the definition of quality features with user centered studies.
