Within in the project AVP3 five companies and three research institutes worked together at the acoustical virtualization of products and production processes in order to enable the earliest possible evaluation and optimization of the auditory perception of virtual prototypes. For this we developed sound methods and innovative tools for specific industrial applications to help reducing unwanted sound events or even eliminating them as well as influencing sound directly.

Responsibilities of Fraunhofer IDMT

Goal of Fraunhofer IDMT was to expand the auralization of a digital product model using the method of wave field synthesis (WFS) and the binaural rendering for VR systems and iteratively validate and optimize those through listening test methods. Furthermore Fraunhofer IDMT contributed to the definition of an universal object-oriented data format.
