As part of the institute's internal ideas competition, they can present their concepts, convince other colleagues of their merits, and receive the time and budget to turn their ideas into real innovations. Dr. Alexander Loos, an AI scientist in the field of facial analysis and object recognition, has already submitted several ideas. The competition gives him the opportunity to give free rein to his research creativity and work on solutions to new challenges.

We are a colorful and diverse community with employees and students from over 16 countries. This diversity allows us to view new challenges from different perspectives and thus find more creative solutions. Our institute is also a partner in international research projects with institutions from various countries. Anitha Bhat Talagini Ashoka, AI scientist at our Ilmenau site, contributes her expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and data analysis and enriches the team with her culture and Indian roots.

Our colleague Milica Gerhardt is following precisely this path, researching and developing software that is used in the fields of audio forensics, multimedia management, and security. Milica is involved in various ongoing research projects and is also actively working on her doctoral thesis, which deals with the detection of reused content in audio material.

We promote women in science through the TALENTA career and development program. The program offers training, mentoring, and networking events to support women in their careers. We strive for equal participation of women and men and promote a culture of equality and respect. As a mother and head of a scientific working group, Hanna Lukashevich benefited from TALENTA and received targeted support and encouragement.
