IMC - I-Media-Cities

I-Media-Cities is an innovative research project on audiovisual sources. As an initiative  of 9 European Film Libraries, 5 research institutions, 2 technological providers and a specialist of digital business models the main goal is to share access to and valorise audiovisual content from their collections for research purposes.

I-Media-Cities wants to create an interoperable and multilingual digital content access platform that is made available to a growing community of researchers and creatives Europe-wide.  The overall goal of the project is the development of a new model for research on digital sources that is also applicable to other subject areas including appropriate exploitation plans to consolidate and expand the platform into the European reference initiative on AV digital content.

As a technical partner Fraunhofer IDMT supports the requirement analysis, the metadata modelling and analysis as well as the architecture design and system integration. Furthermore Fraunhofer IDMT is the lead of WP7 "A/V Annotation" responsible for providing extractors and the annotator orchestration.
