HearingAssistance4Telecommunication

Speech is the most natural way of people communicating. Today, long distance communication on the phone has become common for most people. However, for 15 % of the people in Europe the use of telecommunication is limited due to hearing impairments. Also, the normal hearing and people with minor hearing impairments face special challenges when using the phone in acoustically difficult environments. To allow a clear and easy communication for everyone using a standard phone, a technology is to be developed that individually processes the audio signals of the communication partners.
