KOPRA-M – Development of Empiric Validation of a Model of Music-Practical Competences

In this project, the music-practical competences of pupils have been modelled (singing, basic instrument playing), which are a central part of the music lessons at school. From the very beginning, a necessary computer-aided test environment was developed to allow recording, management and (partly) automated interpretation of MIDI and audio data. The content of the automated interpretation was validated by experts. For the first time on an international scale, the developed software allows a group test of music-practical abilities. The resulting competence model with its pool of test exercises as well as the software-technological infrastructure were the aims of the project.

Responsibilities of Fraunhofer IDMT

The software was designed and implemented by Fraunhofer IDMT. Another part of the project were research and development of automated evaluation procedures for singing and other musical exercises.
