The program brings together current scientific developments and practical applications for smarter and more resilient cities.

Akustische Technologien für Smart Cities

How can acoustic signals from urban environments be used to monitor environmental conditions, identify risks at an early stage, and support data-driven decision-making?

The international event “Acoustic Technologies for Smart Cities” focuses on the use of acoustics, sensor technology, and artificial intelligence to capture and analyze urban environments. The program brings together current scientific developments and practical applications for smarter and more resilient cities.

The event combines scientific perspectives with practical examples and explores how acoustic data can support different tasks in urban environments – from urban noise monitoring to the detection of environmental phenomena such as heavy rainfall. It will also address key requirements for the use of data-driven technologies, including data quality, governance, integration into municipal processes, transparency, and public trust.

The morning will focus on scientific foundations as well as applied use cases and solutions. In the afternoon, four parallel workshops will provide an opportunity to explore selected topics in greater depth and discuss potential applications in the municipal context.
