Measurement, analysis, and optimization of sound sources and acoustic systems

Measurement and analysis methods provide the basis for objectively evaluating the acoustic properties of sound sources and systems and optimizing them in a targeted manner. Fraunhofer IDMT develops and utilizes innovative methods for characterizing acoustic systems and supports industry and research partners in making informed decisions regarding product development and optimization.

Device and loudspeaker characterization

Analysis of sound radiation and directional characteristics of devices and loudspeakers to evaluate acoustic properties and enable targeted optimization

Materia acoustic analysis

Analysis of the acoustic behavior of materials with regard to absorption, reflection, and transmission to evaluate effectiveness and select suitable materials

Room acoustics analysis

Analysis of room acoustics parameters to evaluate and optimize acoustic environments, particularly with regard to sound insulation and speech intelligibility.

Calibration and optimization of sound reinforcemt systems

Calibration and optimization of complex sound reproduction systems in vehicles, rooms, and event venues to improve sound quality and system performance
