A Novel Dataset for Time-Dependent Harmonic Similarity between Chord Sequences, Extended Abstracts for the Late-Breaking Demo Session of the 22nd Int. Society for Music Information Retrieval Conf., Online, 2021.

Dataset Overview

The IDMT-SMT-CHORD-SEQUENCES dataset contains 15,000 4-32 seconds long chord progressions synthesized from MIDI data with 45 different instruments. The files are organized as 5,000 triplets with an anchor, similar and dissimilar chord progression. Metadata like tempo, meter, duration in bars, instrument, and chord progression is provided in JSON format. Also, an overview about all metadata along with the dataset split is stored in a CSV file.
